Current Opening: Violin Teacher

Position Type: Part-time (with potential for full-time in Fall 2026)
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

You’ll love this role if you:

  • Find joy in teaching children ages 3–10

  • Believe that music education is about character as much as technique

  • Value creativity, community, and lifelong learning

  • Are excited to collaborate with a supportive team in a growing school

Responsibilities:

  • Teach 1:1 violin lessons (primarily Suzuki-based)

  • Lead or assist in multi-level group classes

  • Participate in school recitals and community events

  • Communicate regularly with families and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Suzuki teacher training (or willingness to pursue)

  • Degree in Music Education, Violin Performance, or related field

  • Experience with early childhood or elementary-aged students

  • A spirit of warmth, flexibility, and collaboration

Schedule:

  • Current teaching blocks: Wed & Thu 3:00–8:00 PM

  • Add 5–10 hrs on Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat (choose one or two to build your ideal week)

  • 15–20 hrs/week to start, with an option to full-time by Aug 2026
     

Compensation:

  • Pay: Above local market rates; final offer based on experience and demonstration lessons. 

  • Extras: Paid onboarding & mentorship with Crystal Boyack; provided teaching materials & admin support; beautiful, central location with easy parking; inviting community of teachers and families.

  • Option to add hours by combining administrative work or Music Together® teaching.

Current Opening: Music Together Teacher

Position Type: Part-time 
Start Date: Flexible
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

You’ll love this role if you:

  • Find joy in singing, moving, and making music with children ages birth–5 and their grown-ups.

  • Believe that music learning begins with connection and play.

  • Value creativity, community, and a nurturing approach to education.

  • Are warm, energetic, and comfortable leading groups of caregivers and little ones.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly Music Together® family classes following the internationally recognized curriculum.

  • Create a welcoming, joyful environment for all families.

  • Support and encourage parents as their children’s most important music teachers.

  • Attend seasonal trainings, faculty meetings, and community events.

  • Communicate warmly and professionally with families and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong singing voice, steady sense of rhythm, and ability to keep a beat on simple instruments.

  • Experience working with young children and families in a musical or educational setting.

  • Reliable, kind, and community-minded — a teacher who radiates warmth and enthusiasm.

  • Music Together® Teacher Training (or willingness to complete training — stipend provided).

Schedule:

  • Flexible starting at just 1-2 classes/week

Compensation:

  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and training.

  • Stipend: to complete the national Music Together Teacher Training (online).

  • Extras: Paid onboarding & mentorship with Crystal Boyack, provided materials and instruments, classroom set-up support, beautiful central location with easy parking, and an inviting community of teachers and families.
