What is Ready. Set. Violin!?
Ready Set Violin is a playful, commitment free introduction to violin for kids 3-9 and their grownup. Through songs, movement, rhythm games, and foundational violin techniques, your child will build confidence, coordination, and musical skills in a fun and supportive group setting.
This is the perfect mini camp to add to your summer plans.

What to Expect in Class

Our Classes
At Ready Set Violin, our mission is to give 100 Albuquerque children the chance to explore the violin in a fun, commitment-free, and play-based environment. We believe every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of music—no pressure, just play!
But we don’t stop there! As our students grow, we grow with them. Each year, we add new levels for returning students who have started lessons and want to continue their violin journey in a supportive, engaging summer camp setting. Whether your child is just starting out or building on their skills, we have a class to meet them where they are!

Intro to Violin
Ages 3-6 and 6-9
1 hour/day, AM and PM options
Ready, Set, Violin! is a play-based, commitment free introduction to the violin where families explore music together. Classes include hands-on violin experiences with box violins (ages 3-6) and real violins (ages 6-9). Families receive camp swag, and the week concludes with a joyful group performance at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial!
Wee Violin Camp
For students working through Wee Violin or Twinkle variations
3 hours/day, AM and PM options
Wee Violin Camp is a fun and immersive summer experience for young violinists working through Wee Violin or Twinkle Variations. Each day includes:

🎻 Masterclass – Small-group instruction with individual attention.
🎼 Repertoire Class – Group playing to reinforce technique and deepen musical connection.
Suzuki bk 1 Camp
For students working through Lightly Row - Gossec Gavotte
3 hours/day, AM and PM options
Suzuki Book 1 Camp is a fun and immersive summer experience for young violinists working through Suzuki Book 1 (Lightly Row - Gossec Gavotte). Each day includes:

FAQs
Does my child need their own violin? For the intro to violin class - Nope! We provide age-appropriate instruments for class use—box violins for younger students (ages 3-6) and real violins for older students (ages 6-9). For the Wee Class and Suzuki book 1 class - Yes! Bring your violin.
Do parents need to stay during class? Parents and other grownups are the real teachers in class. For the intro to violin classes, come with your child and sing, dance, and play with them. Your connection to music and to your child will grow throughout the week. For Wee Violin and Suzuki book 1 camps, a grownup in charge of your child must be in the building.
What should my child bring to class? Your child should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes for movement activities. For camps, all materials will be provided, and families will receive a t-shirt and tote bag.
What happens at the end of the week? Each session culminates in a group performance at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial, where students celebrate their progress in a supportive, encouraging setting.
